H&I:
Carrying the NA message of recovery to addicts who do not have full access to regular NA meetings.
Definition & Purpose:
The Area Hospitals and Institutions (H&I) Subcommittee is responsible for carrying the Narcotics Anonymous message of recovery into hospitals and institutions whose residents have restricted access to regular NA meetings. An H&I meeting is a kind of meeting better suited to the needs of addicts within a facility. The H&I Subcommittee initiates, coordinate and conducts all H&I meetings in the Area but may use other methods, such as distributing literature and meeting list, to make recovery more available to addicts within these facilities. H&I has been created in harmony with Tradition Nine to unify efforts of 12 step work within hospitals and institutions. The H&I committee is a subcommittee of the Lane County Area Service Committee of Narcotics Anonymous (LCASCNA). H&I is responsible to the LCASCNA and maintains effective liaison and cooperation with that committee.
The H&I Subcommittee meets once a month.
- Friday before Area Service (normally H&I meets the first Friday of the month)
- 6:00 PM (Orientation at 5:30 PM)
- Any questions can be emailed to hospitals.and.institutions@lanecountyarea-na.org.
